During the event, high school students had the opportunity to know the work of NGOs involved in the project and their latest achievements. Also, they have learned more about the project activities, objectives and expected results.
Young students attending the meeting are from: International School of Informatics Bucharest (ICHB), National College Mihai Viteazul, Dante Aligheri High School, National College Ion Creanga, National College ILCaragiale and Fine Arts High School "Nicolae Tonitza"
At Citizen Participation Week held every year since 2005, in 20 European countries of Central and Eastern European States Citizens Network, a series of events that will raise awareness of society on the importance of participatory democracy and growing welfare of communities through citizen action, bringing evidence to this effect. The events program of Citizen Participation Week includes local, regional or national activities, civic gathering, media events, public meetings etc. This series of events is Central and Eastern European commitment Citizens Network to promote citizen participation in the European media, in politics and civil society.
Who is the network?
CEE Citizens Network is a social development initiative involving 20 countries.
Its main objectives are:
• Public awareness of Central and Eastern Europe and the potential impact of citizen initiatives.
• Increasing capacity and skills of citizens to participate more effectively in local and national development actions.
• Promoting citizen participation in Central and Eastern Europe.
During Citizen Participation Week local communities and NGOs who deal with their local problems come together with their initiatives for social improvements and other professional initiatives that merge to express their views about a world that is not governed only by money and power.
These meetings emphasize the importance of dialogue and cooperation and try to promote those civil initiatives that play a key role in the development of local companies.

How to participate
Citizen Participation Week is open to anyone who believes in the importance of developing citizens' initiative, civil society and participatory democracy. Anyone is welcome willing to organize actions related to the participation of citizens and organizations ready to make the connection between citizen participation week and their programs or initiatives in progress.
Anyone can contribute to the success of this project, if only attending events during the citizen participation week
Worth to participate because:
• Local topics will be known nationally and internationally.
• We can prove that participatory democracy is not a utopia, but a task, a shared topic of an important part of society.
• Although ideas about participatory democracy are increasingly popular, authentic citizen initiatives face more and more obstacles.
• These obstacles can't be overcome only by isolated initiatives ...
