Throughout Europe was celebrating them. Him, because he is your neighbor and you for being his neighbor. Do not smile, Friday, May 27, is actually neighbor’s day and it’s a reason for celebration. Seriously, do you remember when it’s the last time you went to the park with your neighbors?
Bucharest's old music heard on streets in the good old days (“Trei parale” band). Traditional dance and popular songs performed by Ansamblul Romanasul from Palatul National al Copiilor, therapeutic dance troupe from Fundeni Social Home. Folk music played by Spiru Haret University Theatre students. Painting competition held between talented high school students at the School of Fine Arts "Nicolae Tonitza". And over all this, there are many stories. Many stories about simple but remarkable people, who had the power to change the community they live alongside with their neighbors.
PACT Foundation invites you as well to take part to
Neighbor’s Day, Friday, May 27, in Lumea Copiilor Park, Palatul National al Copiilor entrance,
between 17.oo and 20.oo.
There are prizes for those who organize Neighbor’s Day in the community they live in: for the friendliest event / with most participants, the most fun / more animated event, for the most creative / unique event, will be awarded with two special prizes, for the most beautiful story written about the event and the most beautiful and eloquent pictures / video clips during the event.
On Neighbor’s Day, PACT launched the contest
"PACT for Neighborhood" outside Bucharest. In this way, community organizations and initiative groups for community development established in the eight years of our team’s activity, are encouraged to organize, in return, Neighbor’s Day.
So far, 11 towns in rural and small urban communities in southern Romania have joined the competition. We’ll resume with details.
Neighbor’s Day is a neighborhood celebration event, which this year PACT Foundation celebrates it in Bucharest, along with friends of the organization.
Neighbor’s Day is celebrated in Europe and around the world every year on the last Friday in May. Celebration is an initiative of the European Federation for Local Solidarity, a nonprofit organization based in Paris, France, founded in 2005 for developing a network of partners who want to promote "a better life together" (in the community ).
In 2010 participated in Neighbors Holiday more than 10 million people in 1,200 cities in over 30 countries in Europe and the world.
PACT Foundation is this year, the partner of the European Federation of Local Solidarity.

This event intend to mobilize people in the community to organize in order to make together beautiful things, fun, useful. In each country, the event takes different forms based on local culture, traditions and customs, community type etc.
Neighbors Holiday encourages people to know and communicate with each other. Creates better conditions for the neighborhood, living together, help strengthen community cohesion and solidarity. This is totally informal celebration of good neighborliness.
The fact that Neighbors Holiday actually gather that increasingly more participants is proof that the desire to live better together has no borders. The enthusiasm of those who organized and participated in the events show that more solidarity people desire, but also their willingness to come together around a simple and generous project.
