32600 RON available to support community projects in Constanta
PACT launched Pontus Euxin Community Fund which it administers. The Fund was established by a conference-event in order to attract funds, hosted by actor Dan Puric at the initiative of a group of Constanta, with the support of PACT Foundation. Through this Fund, PACT wants to finance projects in various fields, projects proposed by NGOs and by initiative groups of Constanta, with a maximum amount of 6250 lei / project.
The main objective of the Fund is to encourage initiative groups and NGOs in Constanta to develop projects that contribute in making positive changes in different urban communities in the city of Constanta.
Community Fund Pontus Euxin Constanta, totaling 32.600 RON is administered by PACT Foundation. The Fund was established by selling tickets at the conference-event, supported by actor Dan Puric in Constanta, November 20th, 2010. The event was organized in order to attract funds to support local community projects and was attained by the Initiative Group for the Community Fund Pontus Euxin - Constanta, with the support of PACT Foundation.
Between 9 and 30 June 2011 we expect letters of intent to submit project proposals in Constanta community benefit from nongovernmental organizations and initiative groups of Constanta. A selection committee composed of experts selected partners and coordinated by PACT, with consultation and active members involvement of the Initiative Group for the Community
Fund Euxin Pontus, will review letters of intent, and - later - proposals for full funding (for applicants whose letters of intent will receive positive response) and communicate funding decisions until July 15th for letters of intent, namely August 28th, 2011 for full project proposals.
Responses to letters of intent will be given as sending them to PACT, so the rule applied is "first come, first served" basis, to allow for the eligibility criteria, the reliability of project ideas and technical quality of the proposal.

Initiative of the fund belongs to a group of Constanta, with professional career in various fields and parents who believe that involvement in community issues can create a better environment for families and children of the Constanta community, and have decided to be directly involved in creating a community spirit and transforming Constanta community in a beneficent home to all its inhabitants, especially those less favored.
PACT Foundation – Partnership for Community Action and Transformation is a non-profit organization in Bucharest, active in community development and social economy, which operates in the south of Romania. PACT has accumulated rich experience in facilitating the founding and development of community based organizations, using a methodology of training, facilitation, consulting and providing small grants (funding). PACT develops its own fundraising campaigns to finance small income generating projects or activities (Community Affairs) developed and implemented by community based organizations in the localities where they operate.
We encourage initiative groups and NGOs interested in applying to this fund, because the experience gained by PACT with similar programs in several other counties in the south proved that small scale projects can produce significant changes in communities, from these considerations :
There is always locally unimproved resources. You can call on local resources such as community volunteers, business support and local authorities, other stakeholders directly interested in community development.
Financial resources are not most important for community development projects, with small amounts can get useful results, both short term and long term. Primary resource for these projects is the people - with their energy, dedication and abilities. The main objective of the Fund is to help develop communities in Constanta through volunteer growth and community activism.
Community Fund Pontus Euxin is integrated into the Community Development Foundation Program in Romania(www.fundatiicomunitare.ro) nationally initiated and coordinated by the Association for Community Relations (ARC –www.arcromania.ro) and in affinity with the Partnership Foundation (www.repf.ro) and PACT Foundation (www.fundatiapact.ro).
