Public Report in support of community projects in Constanta sustained by PACT through Community Fund Pontus Euxin
In early June 2011, PACT launched Community Fund Pontus Euxin, totaling 32.600 RON, under its management. The Fund was established by selling tickets at the conference-event, held up by actor Dan Puric in Constanta, on November 20th 2010. The event was organized by a group of citizens in Constanta (constituted as an Initiative Group for Community Fund Pontus Euxin), with support from PACT Foundation, in order to attract funds to sustain local community projects.
The main purpose of the fund is to stimulate initiative groups and NGOs in Constanta to develop projects that contribute to producing positive changes in different urban communities in the city of Constanta.

PACT Foundation held Wednesday, December 7th, from 19.30 at Café Godot Theatre, a medieval theme party, which is the second fundraising event from private sources for the Community Fund for action and transformation of villages in southern Romania. The total amount collected at this event, of 8754 lei, from selling tickets, "all pay" auction (everyone pays) for special objects donated and classic auction for works of art offered by artists, will be used to support projects initiated by groups of citizens in rural communities in southern Romania.

PACT Foundation is organizing a "Blazonry get together for people loving nobility" with medieval theme. This is the second fundraising event from private sources for the Community Fund for action and transformation of villages in southern Romania.
By this Community Fund, PACT Foundation will give initiative groups in the south of the country grants for community projects and start-ups for income generating activities at local level, community business and enterprise initiatives with socio-cultural profile. Projects will be supported from the Community Fund in order to develop a community identity through creative means.

National program for Community Foundations offer 33,500 lei for creating community foundations in major cities in Romania. This amount can be won by communities that will prove that they want, but also are able to establish this type of foundation.
Residents with initiative can benefit of this opportunity until 5 December 2011. In this case, they have to send to Association for Community Relations (ARC) a letter of intent showing that they wish to establish a foundation, that their community needed a community foundation, to identify important donors, and also the most consuming problems of the community.

PACT Foundation held Thursday, September 29th, from 19.30 at Clubul Taranului (in Muzeul Taranului Roman [Romanian Peasant Museum]) a cocktail reception in order to raise funds to support projects implementation of the initiative groups of villages in southern Romania. The event was attended by over 100 people: leaders of initiative groups formed with PACT support in the five rounds of community interventions, business representatives, partners and sponsors of PACT Foundation, founders, consultants, members of the Foundation Board, sponsors and partners in making the event, journalists, NGO friends and other guests eager to contribute to the development of rural communities in Romania.

On the occasion of Citizen Participation Week, At the European project "Future active citizens: volunteering as an exercise of democracy", PACT organized a meeting on Tuesday, September 20th , 2011, at 15:00, at the Mihai Viteazul National College in Bucharest, with approximately 100 young people from six high schools in Bucharest. The event brought together representatives from three organizations experienced working with volunteers partner in the project (Salvati Copiii, Fundatia Noi Orizonturi, Centrul National de Resurse pentru Voluntariat Bucuresti PROVOBIS), teachers and parents.

Friday, May 27th, 2011 PACT celebrated Neighbor’s Day in Bucharest with the organization friends. This year, PACT has been an official partner of the European Federation for Local Solidarity (http://www.european-neighbours-day.com/) and marked the 11th anniversary of the event alongside millions of European citizens, being celebrated the first time in Paris 2000.

PACT launched Pontus Euxin Community Fund which it administers. The Fund was established by a conference-event in order to attract funds, hosted by actor Dan Puric at the initiative of a group of Constanta, with the support of PACT Foundation. Eight bighearted villagers of Aricestii Zeletin, Prahova County, decided to work together to capitalize one of the most important resources of their community: trees. Mrs Beatrice Pusculita, a housewife from Glina village, decided to no longer stay aside when it comes to her village. She, along with others locals, initiated an activity for the benefit of the entire community, to bring a change for the better for all community members. Armed with pencils and notebooks, they called from door to door, to find out the villagers’ opinion about the community problems. It came out that many of them are deeply affected by the effects of leaving garbage in inadequate places. The reasons for such behavior are various: from habit, lack of environment education and unawareness of health danger, to the inaccessibility to secondary roads for sanitation cars and absence of fines.
