The BYP team (Beyond Youth Potential) merges volunteering and advertising in Voluntising, a project that we enthusiastically joined. The idea was born in may and since then, it has shaped into 3 TV spots made by volunteers, that met great succes among young people. 

PACT Foundation is looking for community facilitators in Prahova, Dambovita, Ialomita, Calarasi, Giurgiu and Ilfov counties, to help with the Community-based Organizations Development Program, from September 2010 to February 2012. The program is at its 5th round and is financed by the Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe (www.ceetrust.org) 

On June 17th, representatives of the National Agency of Fiscal Administration (ANAF) and of the NGO sector came together to discuss an improvement plan for the 2% mechanism – the mechanism that enables persons to redirect 2% of their income tax to a non-profit entity.

On the 18th of May 2010, the Romanian Donor's Forum and PACT Foundation addressed an open letter to the Romanian Government and the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), in order to trigger an alarm signal regarding de dysfunctions related to the application of the 2% mechanism. Here are the main results of this initiative, centralized by the Romanian Donor's Foundation, 5 days after the letter has been sent:

The 195/2001 Law, known as the Volunteers Law, is in open debate to be altered. A first series of discussions took place at the Senate of Romania, in mid April this year. At the reunion, Members of the Parliament, representatives of the private companies lobbying for the practice of volunteering, as well as NGOs collaborating with volunteers, Foundation PACT included, worked together.

PACT Foundation together with colleague NGOs drafted and signed an open letter meant to trigger an alarm signal to the Government and National Agency of Fiscal Administration, considering the lack of transparency, unity and coherence in the application of the 2% Mechanism. This mechanism is designed to permit tax payers to direct 2% of their previous year income tax and is enacted by article 57 in the Fiscal Code.

PACT Foundation benefited of a total of 10269,5 RON due to individuals who redirected 2% of their income tax in the years 2008 and 2009 (1520,78 RON were redirected to PACT in 2008, and 8748,81 RON in 2009). Over 100 people thus supported the Foundation’s activities. The total amount raised was used to fully finance 2 community projects and to complete the budgets of 4 other projects that contributed to the development of disadvantaged communities from South Romania.
