Public Report in support of community projects in Constanta sustained by PACT through Community Fund Pontus Euxin In early June 2011, PACT launched Community Fund Pontus Euxin, totaling 32.600 RON, under its management. The Fund was established by selling tickets at the conference-event, held up by actor Dan Puric in Constanta, on November 20th 2010. The event was organized by a group of citizens in Constanta (constituted as an Initiative Group for Community Fund Pontus Euxin), with support from PACT Foundation, in order to attract funds to sustain local community projects. The main purpose of the fund is to stimulate initiative groups and NGOs in Constanta to develop projects that contribute to producing positive changes in different urban communities in the city of Constanta.

PACT Foundation held Wednesday, December 7th, from 19.30 at Café Godot Theatre, a medieval theme party, which is the second fundraising event from private sources for the Community Fund for action and transformation of villages in southern Romania. The total amount collected at this event, of 8754 lei, from selling tickets, "all pay" auction (everyone pays) for special objects donated and classic auction for works of art offered by artists, will be used to support projects initiated by groups of citizens in rural communities in southern Romania.

Madalina Marcu

stands among the initiators and first supporters of PACT. In 2003-2005 Madalina worked as an assistant of the programme “Learning, Participation, Trust”. Her passion for public relations and fundraising became stronger in 2005 when she started working as a PR and fundraising coordinator at the Romanian Association for Community Development and later on at the Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation. Madalina is currently a PR Coordinator for the Association for Community Relations.

Simona David
Board Member - Simona started her career as an economic journalist and worked in this field for 7 years, since 1994 when she began her work in a news agency, until 2001, when she was working with the daily newspaper Adevarul. For another 7 years then, she worked in the field of communication, in a multinational environment. In 2008, she began pursuing her dream of having her own consultancy business (services ranging from communication to lobby, brand management and CSR) and in 2009 she began her collaboration with the public sector. Simona is passionate about communication, which - she believes - helps us (re)discover our world and grow.
Alina Porumb
has 12 years’ experience in non-profit organisations and development programmes, having supported them through consultancy, training and research. Alina coordinated a series of studies on funding mechanisms for non-profit causes in Romania and Central or Eastern Europe. She is currently the Research and Development Director at the Association for Community Relations. She took a postgraduate course on Social Development Practice at London Metropolitan University and is a PhD student at the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work of Babes-Bolyai University.

Anca Gaidos

Board President - Anca has been active in the field of rural and community development for 8 years, working with organizations and projects such as Knowledge Based Economy, Romanian Social Development Fund or the Rural Development Project. She is a founding member of the Romanian Association for Community Development - the first community development organization in Romania - and she has trained over 150 persons to become community facilitators. Anca is the initiator and coordinator of the Community Development Postgraduate Course run by the Babes Bolyai University in partnership with RuralNet. Presently, Anca works as a freelance consultant, providing services such as: framing strategic development plans, business training and consultancy for beneficiaries in the rural area, developing work abilities for either groups or communities.
